We open the land to make way for good soils.
Good soil makes good wine and good wine makes good people.

Our dream
came true

"The earth is our everything and that is how geology describes it.  39 years ago geology made it possible for a Dutchman like me to get to know Spain for the first time. I was passionate about its culture, nature, climate and also its geology.

Bodem, which means “soil” in Dutch, truly symbolizes the origin of this winery with Dutch roots. After more than 25 years working and living for and for Spanish wine, the Geirnaerdt-van Ekeris family found a place in Cariñena to which we felt deeply attached. That is why Bodem is not just another winery, but a firm commitment to Spanish wine, with the Garnacha variety and, ultimately, the achievement of a dream."

The Original Grenache

PDO CARINENA

In the heart of the
Sierra de Algairén

Cariñena is the great unknown outside of Spain; the forgotten cradle and place where the Garnacha grape was born. Its arid climate and rugged soils provide everything this variety needs: plenty of sun and the exact amount of minerals.

Vineyards: 15 ha owned and controlled over 112 ha of family vineyards owned by local viticulturists in the Valdejalón region, in the heart of the Sierra de Algairén; the place where the Garnacha variety was born.

Climate: Continental - cold winters and hot summers with radical day-night temperature contrast. The characteristic wind of the "El Cierzo" area contributes to the dryness of the climate and keeps the vineyards free of pests.

Floor: "Marl" soils; It is a type of soil that occurs on limestone rock in the Sierra de Algairén.

Brewing style: winemaking focused on the character of the grape. Wines made with traditional criteria using autochthonous grape varieties.

Ability: 1.6 million liters.
